JP LaCasse has worked in the container shipping industry for three decades. His career with Arthur Andersen & Co., obtaining private Revenue Rulings for leveraged leases of transportation assets. He later joined RJ Reynolds Industries/Sea-Land, where he served as International Tax Counsel and Western Hemisphere Treasurer.
At American President Lines, JP was in charge of the tax and internal audit functions, and later was the North American Controller. JP joined CP Ships as the Chief Financial Officer of Lykes Lines, and later held the same position at Americana Ships, a joint venture between CP Ships and Grupo TMM. Subsequently, JP was the Senior Vice President of North America, comprising the Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Finance and Human Resource activities of CP Ships in Canada, the US and Mexico. During his tenure, JP was responsible for integrating the North American personnel of the several acquisitions made by CP Ships, and established offshore administrative centers in Brazil and India.
JP has a bachelors degree in Accounting from Arizona State University and a law degree from the College of William & Mary. He is a member of the American and Virginia Bar Associations.
