40 years of transportation experience in the areas of Marketing and Sales,Pricing and Regulatory, covering the Rail, Motor and Ocean Carrier Industries.
After retiring from Florida East Coast Railway as Senior Vice President,Marketing and Sales, Gene acted in capacity of President, International Trucking Inc., a FEC Industries truckload carrier during its transition. Subsequently, GT Strategies, Inc. was formed in 2000, leading to consulting activities including Florida's Coast to Coast Rail initiativealong with Statewide Intermodal projects and Intermodal Connectivity in the Atlantic Commerce Corridor covering an assessment of Seaport, Rail, and ther Regional Mobility opportunities.
Gene was employed by FEC Railway in various managerial capacities in the seventies and rejoined the company in 1992, developing intermodal programs and successfully expanding ocean/rail and ocean/motor/rail business relations..
In 1981, he joined Intermodal Transportation Services, Cincinnati as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales with strategic terminal locations and railroad connections throughout North America.
When Crowley Maritime Corporation expanding ocean services in 1982, Gene returned to Jacksonville as AVP, Marketing and later transferred to Seattle with a managing group operating Alaska Hydro Train and Hawaiian Marine Lines, both Crowley companies. In 1987, Gene assumed position of Vice President, Pricing and Regulatory, CMC, Jacksonville.
Developing Intermodal connectivity involves innovative carriers of all modes and with years of experience in this area, the challenge is exciting and implementation rewarding.
Gene is a native of Minnesota and holds a degree from the Minnesota School of Business. Board of Directors, TTX Corporation, 1992-2000.
