Richard owns an independent CPA / Consulting Firm providing interim CFO and executive level finance and IT consulting to international organizations. Specific areas of concentration include foreign exchange and monetary controls, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and financial planning. Recent engagements include interim CFO services for the Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, and managing the re-development of financial data systems at CP Ships. Other clients have included Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, and the Grand Bahama Port Authority.
Prior to establishing his CPA firm, he spent over 25 years as the CFO and Corporate Controller for a number of corporations, with extensive experience in the maritime industry. During the early 1990s he was the VP of Finance for Tecmarine Lines, and later the VP of Finance for Tropical Shipping. During this period he oversaw companies international finance operations, risk management activities, and expansion programs.
During the 1980s he worked for various international companies, including Gulf Oil Corporation in Venezuela, Coordinated Caribbean Transport (now Crowley), and Tropigas International.
Richard is a graduate of Tulane University (Economics) and also holds an MBA and a Masters Degree in Accounting. He is a licensed Florida CPA and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs. He has spent most of his career in the Caribbean / Latin-American trades and is fully fluent in Spanish.
